Brittany is a women's rights activist, social entreprenuer and naturalist living in Baltimore, Md.

Brittany is the Founder and Director of Not Without Black Women, a new project aimed to uplift black women's voices through self-expression, dialogue and sisterhood. Previously, she worked at the ACLU of Maryland and a number of social justice organizations over the last several years.

Brittany's passion for change began at the age of 15, when she petitioned her high school to offer African-American classes so students like herself could learn about more about their history. A native of West Baltimore, she studied visual art intensively until she went off to college to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Towson University to use her skills to bring people together with an impetus for social change.

Raised by her mother and grandmother, Brittany grew up witnessing how society treated single Black women of inner city communities, which led to investigate the intersections of race, class and gender as the theoretical and political framework for understanding the Black woman’s condition and struggle for liberation.

Named as Bitch Media's "20 Black Women You Should Be Following Right Now," her leadership has led her to facilitate a number of lectures, trainings and workshops on grassroots organizing, gender-based violence, digital media for activists and more. Brittany was the force who challenged white feminism during the Women's March and has no regrets. Brittany has been a featured speaker for Amnesty International, Johns Hopkins University, the Global Women's Institute at George Washington University, the Center on Applied Feminism at the University of Baltimore and more.

In her own time, she enjoys photography, watching documentaries, practices healing work and is training to become a master naturalist. Follow her on Twitter and Instagram.
